Fergus came to us because his young owners were splitting up and neither of them felt they could give Fergus the time and care he deserved. Fergus was a complicated case because he had recently been diagnosed with epilepsy and he was only 1 yr old. We knew it would have to be a very special family who would take on a dog with an ongoing condition like epilepsy. After trying several avenues and having no luck I was worried we wouldn’t find Fergus the home he deserved. Then along came Rochelle, an angel in human form. Not in the slightest bit worried about Fergus’s medical condition Rochelle didn’t hesitate to say they would have him. So the following week I collected him from his old home and drove him to Rochelle’s. The moment we arrived in the garden he was home! He was instantly welcomed by Henry and Linus, Rochelle’s other gorgeous dogs – and the new brother was in the fold. It was love at first sight for Fergus and he is one very lucky boy to have found such a wonderful new home.
Rochelle – his new owner’s perspective
Fergie joined our family at the end of June this year. Henry our 9 yr old golden retriever and Linus our 7 year old fox red Labrador took it all in their stride and soon everything took on a new and full on routine. Fergie has settled amazingly well and is now head of the household. The joy and laughter he has brought is truly indescribable. He has boundless energy and Henry has lost a few pounds trying to keep up with him! Fergie is an epileptic, but this certainly doesn’t stop him doing anything. I feel very privileged to have Fergie in my life, to love and cherish him and have years of fun together
